Meet the world's first augmented multiple-choice assessment aid: CorrectAR

Imagine being a teacher faced with a towering stack of paper-based multiple-choice tests to grade. The task can be daunting and incredibly time-consuming. After all, grading papers isn't exactly the most riveting part of the teaching profession. Educators often find grading to be the most demanding part of their job. Fortunately, the world of Edtech offers a solution - CorrectAR. This ingenious application allows teachers to grade multiple-choice tests with ease, accuracy, and speed. But how did we transition from concept to prototype?

The Need for CorrectAR

The first step in the development process was identifying the need. The education system was desperate for a solution to make multiple-choice grading less strenuous and more efficient. The idea for a corrector - an AR teacher aid for multiple-choice tests - was born out of this recognized need. This tool promised to save educators countless hours, allowing them to concentrate more on their pedagogical tasks rather than administrative ones.

About the Prototype

With the problem identified, the next step was to conceive the solution. It needed to be user-friendly, efficient, and reliable. We brainstormed several ideas, focusing on how AR could be harnessed to create an easy-to-use grading aid. We decided on a mobile application that would allow teachers to overlay the correct answers with AR technology on paper-based multiple-choice questions instantly.

The design phase was critical to bring this idea to life. The user interface needed to be intuitive and streamlined, ensuring that even the less tech-savvy educators could easily use it. We opted for a minimalist design with clear, easy-to-understand instructions.

Following the development, we embarked on several rounds of testing. We trialed the app under different conditions, i.e., in both light and dark environments, and with various interaction modes, i.e., handheld and head-mounted, to adapt to any classroom setting.

CorrectAR is an AR Edtech aid that combines the power of AR with a user-friendly design to reduce administrative burdens and enhance efficiency. It supports teachers, making their jobs easier.

The development of CorrectAR attests to the power of technology and serves as a demonstration of how AR can be leveraged to solve real-world problems.
